Kappa® Neo: One Solution for all Bicycles Types

Two proven systems, newly combined

The demands placed on urban bicycle parking systems have changed fundamentally in recent years. From lightweight road bikes to e-bikes and fat bikes: the variety of bicycle types is growing, and with it the need for infrastructure that can keep pace with this development. With the Kappa® Neo, we are introducing a parking system that addresses this need. It was developed through the consistent refinement of two of our most successful products: Kappa® Light and Felix®.

The foundation: Two successful bicycle parking systems

Kappa® Light – refined extended locking element, minimalist, functional

Kappa® Light is characterized by a clean design language and a deliberately minimal use of materials. The slimmer tube diameter and the extended locking element define its appearance. A characteristic feature is the angled position of the main hoop, which helps prevent contact with painted bicycle parts. Kappa® Light is suitable for bicycle types with tire widths up to approximately 70 mm and has become a preferred solution in semi-public spaces, residential complexes, businesses, and educational institutions.

Felix® – stability and clean Lines

With Felix®, we have developed a system that securely guides bicycles and provides secure support. The uniform hoop height creates a calm, structured look in urban spaces. The design is engineered for tire widths up to approximately 110 mm, covering a wide range of standard bicycles. Felix® has established itself as a robust and reliable solution, particularly in public spaces, at schools, Park & Ride facilities, and mobility hubs. Both systems stand for durability, safety, and a clean design language.

At the same time, real-world experience has shown that the reality of bicycles has become even more diverse.

The idea behind Kappa® Neo

“The wide variety of bicycles requires many different parking systems. However, the right solution for a particular bike isn’t always available on-site. Our goal was therefore to develop a bike rack that can accommodate as many bike types as possible—without users having to get frustrated that, of all things, their bike doesn’t fit again,” says Managing Director Felix Gronard, describing the starting point of the development.

“This development was a logical step toward offering a secure parking spot to as many users as possible at a single location.”

Creating something new from proven components

The development of Kappa® Neo is a precise evolution of proven components. “I was drawn to the idea of creating something comprehensive and highly useful from existing components—something that saves on materials without compromising safety or stability.”

Kappa® Neo therefore adopts the angled main hoop from Kappa® Light, designed to protect sensitive bicycle surfaces and combines it with the proven wheel guide from Felix®, which securely accommodates tire widths from approximately 35 to 110 mm. The result is a parking system that combines comfort, stability, and protection in a clean design.

As a result, the system meets the requirements of modern bicycle parking facilities according to DIN 79008 and offers planners and municipalities a durable, long-term solution.
